The team status card, version 14

Build Note

Version 1 was a scrolling list of names with status text. Version 14 is a compact panel with presence indicators, a focus signal, and a stale flag.

The journey from 1 to 14 is mostly about deletion. Every version cut something. The status text was the longest-running argument. v3 dropped freeform; v7 brought it back; v11 dropped it again. v14 makes it optional, and almost no one uses it. The presence indicator and the focus signal carry the weight.

The lesson: a card is not a form. A card is a glance. The instinct to add a field is almost always wrong.
